Tim Black, Founder, started Black Roofing in June of 1975. Tim’s 40+ years of experience in the roofing industry, is reflected in his day-to-day involvement in the company, managing marketing, interacting with the project managers, and problem solving. He has served on the Board of Directors of the National Roofing Contractors Association and is a past-president of the Colorado Roofing Association. A hometown Boulder boy, Tim is active in the local community as well.
Dan Zahtila, President, began his roofing career in 1978 and became part owner of Black Roofing in 2003. He oversees the daily operations of the company and provides management support to the various company department heads. Dan’s experience in the Marine Corps and his extensive commercial flat roofing experience have added a more complete dimension to Black Roofing’s commercial abilities. He is a past-president of the Colorado Roofing Association.
Brandon DeLozier, Vice President, began his roofing career with Black Roofing in 1996. Brandon was originally hired as a truck driver, but it soon became apparent that he had loftier ambitions. After extensive training in nearly every department, Brandon joined the project management staff in 2002. His customers include general contractors, property owners and managers, public and private entities, and homeowners. He can estimate and manage nearly every type of roofing project, including new construction, re-roofs, and service repairs for both sloped and low-sloped roofing applications.

Alan Nedelea, Project Manager. Alan started re-roofing in 1991 as a young laborer at the age of 19 working on hot asphalt tar and gravel projects. He wasn’t sure how long he would keep his job, but Tim Black could see more than just potential. He saw an opportunity to develop a hard worker, with the skills to learn and provide customers a professional experience on all roofing construction aspects.
Five years later, as the roofing industry moved to single-ply systems, Alan became the youngest foreman at Black Roofing Inc., supervising 8 to 10 man crews. In 2003, after a short time in the service department as a technician, Dan Zahtila and Tim Black gave Alan the opportunity to move into a larger leadership role as Commercial Superintendent; overseeing multiple re-roofs and new construction projects from set-up through final completion. Since that time Alan feels blessed to have the incredible resources at Black Roofing in his fellow co-workers and supervisors.

Lacey Trokey, New Construction Commercial Estimator, began her career at Black Roofing in 2007 as a receptionist. In 2009, she became the coordinator for the Service Department and in 2014 joined the Flat division as an estimator and project manager. She strives for exceptional customer service by providing quick and efficient response times. Lacey’s customers include general contractors, property owners and managers, public and private entities, and homeowners. She can estimate and manage various types of roofing projects, including new construction, re-roofs, and service repairs for both sloped and low-sloped roofing applications.
Jack Garrett, Commercial Superintendent. He began his career in roofing as a laborer in 1978. Jack’s practical roof experience and knowledge has helped him develop into an effective and seasoned supervisor of all our low-sloped roofing crews for built-up, modified, and single-ply roofing systems. He supervises material handling, production, and manpower, and maintains and coordinates the start and completion of the roofing projects on multiple job sites.
Sam Cooley, Service Project Manager. Sam Cooley began his roofing career in 1980 in Louisiana. He has diverse experience in all areas of the Residential Roofing Industry. In 2001, he joined the Black Roofing Team as a Service Technician. Sam’s excellent leadership skills and quality craftsmanship with the roofing projects he completed, led to Sam becoming a Service Project Manager in 2015. With over 35 years of roofing experience, and his easy going personality, Sam is a favorite of customer’s in the Black Roofing Service Department. Because of Sam’s eclectic knowledge of the Roofing Industry, and his easy going, warm personality he makes an excellent addition to the Black Roofing Family.
Amber Bonura, Service Coordinator. Amber joined Black Roofing in 2016 after working in the Customer Service and Security industries for almost 10 years. Amber started working as our Receptionist in January, and now assists with Collections, Payroll, and our Sub-Contractor program as the Service Coordinator.
Nevres Rustemovic, Service Manager. Nevres Rustemovic, began his roofing career in 2001 and joined Black Roofing in 2015. He comes from Bosnia & Herzegovina and has a unique, distinct and dedicated work ethic that focuses on providing great customer service. He has been successfully running Service Departments for the last 10 years. His two priorities are the safety of people and satisfaction of the customers, his motto “If you make an investment of time and great service in a customer, you can make a fortune in building long lasting relationships!”
Nevres has extensive experience and knowledge in the roofing industry which allows him to provide great roof inspections & roof condition reports for residential and commercial customers. Outside of work, Nevres enjoys time with his family and coaching his daughter in the barrel racing world. He is very proud and excited to say that he is part of the Black Roofing Team!
Sheet Metal Roofing
Scot Hanson, Project Manager. Scot joined Black Roofing in 2002 and has over 20 years experience in the industry. Scot is experienced in all aspects of sheet metal wall and roof installation.

Mark Conley, Sheet Metal Superintendent. Mark started his career in metal roofing in 1999 by joining the Black Roofing team. Through hard work, determination, and dedication, he worked his way to foreman and then on to superintendent. Mark is experienced in all aspects of sheet metal roof and wall system applications. Mark continues to strive every day to provide the best quality installation on every project while adhering to all industry standards and safety.

Pat Sweet, Project Manager. Pat has been with Black Roofing for more than 30 years. His construction experience and knowledge of all types of steep-roof products and installations make him the perfect choice to manage and/or estimate re-roofs, repairs, and new construction projects. Expert in both residential and new construction, Pat has earned the CertainTeed Shingle Quality Specialist designation.

Darrell Cook, Project Manager. Darrell joined Black Roofing in October 2014 as a residential project manager. He has an associate degree in business and has over 10 years of construction experience. As an expert in dealing with insurance companies, Darrell enjoys assisting his clients with the sometimes complex claims process. A native to Colorado, Darrell enjoys spending his free time in the outdoors, attending sporting events and cheering on his two boys at their football & basketball games.
Todd Trehey, Shingle Superintendent. Growing up in Madison Wisconsin. I began my roofing career at the age of 19. After 29+ years in the Midwest it was time for a change and moved west to Colorado. I joined black roofing in June of 2013. I have been married for 28 years and have 5 children. I have been running crews, chasing leaks. helping people for well over 25 years.
Erin Jaggi, Project Coordinator. Erin joined Black Roofing in July of 2015. She has a diverse background in Facilities Management, Event Planning & Design and Construction Project Coordination. Erin is one of our Project Coordinator’s, supporting both our Residential and Commercial teams including shingle, tile metal and flat roofing systems. Her diverse skill set and great customer service skills make her a great fit for our Black Roofing team.
Jason Pryor, Vice President. Jason comes to Black Roofing with a background in construction and commercial waterproofing. Jason began his full time carrier in the waterproofing industry in 2000. He has held positions such as Applicator, Estimator, Superintendent, Project Manager and Vice President. Over the years, Jason has built relationships in the Colorado construction industry with general contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, developers, building owners and manufacture representatives. Jason is experienced in air barriers, joint sealants, injections, coatings, expansion joints, pavers, green roofs and all types other types of waterproofing systems. His experience, reputation and knowledge are well known throughout the industry.

Dylan McLaughlin, Project Manager,has spent the last eleven years estimating and managing commercial waterproofing projects throughout the Colorado and southern Wyoming markets. He specializes in large to medium size waterproofing projects requiring special attention to detail to maintain waterproofing continuity. Dylan is familiar with numerous waterproofing applications including below grade membranes, horizontal plaza waterproofing, blind side waterproofing, above grade air barrier, garden roofing solutions, joint sealants, and expansion joint assemblies. Dylan joined the Black Roofing team in 2014.

Tzveta Ivanova, Project Coordinator, has been in the waterproofing industry for over 16 years. She found her love for the construction industry back in 2000 and joined the Black Roofing team in May of 2016. She provides support for the project management staff through bid and submittal preparation, LEEDS documentation, contract administration, and accounting.
Kyle Bodor, Project Manager. Kyle started in the waterproofing industry in 2007 and joined Black Roofing in November of 2015. He is well versed in below grade waterproofing, above grade waterproofing, plaza decks and pavers as well as expansion joint assemblies.

Steve Abote, Waterproofing Superintendent. Steven started his career in commercial waterproofing in 2007, accepting a job with Black Roofing in August of 2014. He oversees the daily operations of the waterproofing crews, ensuring projects are completed at an expert level. Steve has extensive knowledge in many waterproofing applications including below grade membranes, epoxy and urethane coatings, horizontal plaza waterproofing, blind side waterproofing, above grade air barrier, garden roofing solutions, joint sealants, cementitious coatings and expansion joint assemblies.
Matt Sabadosh, Waterproofing Superintendent. Matt has over 17 years of construction industry experience in both residential and commercial projects. He was as a residential General contractor and now has become a commercial waterproofing superintendent, joining the Black Roofing team in 2016. He oversees daily operations of field installation, quality control, project coordination of all types of below grade and above grade waterproofing systems.
Gena Beagle, Human Resource Manager. Gena joined Black Roofing in 2015 as our Human Resource Manager. In 2016, Gena became the Office Manager. She currently oversees the office, Human Resources, and the Payroll Department. She also assists the IT department in maintaining the Black Roofing network.
Adam Fernstedt, Operations Manager. With Black Roofing since 2014, Adam oversees the daily operations of the company, including purchase orders, inventory audits, incoming/outgoing supply deliveries, facilities and fleet maintenance, and mobile communications.
Becky Marshall, Accounting Coordinator. Becky joined Black Roofing in 2016 after working in the Oil/Gas industry for over 15 years. Becky worked as the Office Manager, Warehouse Manager, and as a Dispatcher to name but a few. Becky’s experience in this slew of positions makes her an excellent addition to the Black Roofing team as our Accounting Coordinator.
Steve Frank, Controller. Steve Frank, Controller. Steve begin working for Black Roofing in February 2013 and has been a controller in the roofing industry for over 20 years. Steve manages all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, job costing, inventory, assets, and the general ledger. Steve is also responsible for creating the companies budget, preparing financial statements, tax compliance, sales tax returns and coordinating with CPA’s on yearly audits and tax returns.
Daniel Krus, Director of Environmental Health and Safety. Daniel started with Black Roofing Inc. in 2009 as a Shop Hand/Delivery Driver, while attending Front Range Community College. During his first year Daniel demonstrated potential and drive for a more challenging position. After a brief stint as warehouse manager, he moved into the field of safety. After receiving extensive and ongoing training through OSHA compliance classes, Daniel soon became the Safety Coordinator for Black Roofing Inc. Today Daniel oversees all aspects of safety for Black Roofing Inc.’s employees, keeping them up to date on; First Aid/CPR/AED. American Red Cross and Medic First Aid, DOT regulations, the 1910 standards (general industry), 1926 standards (construction industry). He is qualified to provide most training needs.
